Sunset District Ground Floor Conversion & Excavation | Single-Family Home (In-Progress)

This active remodel project in San Francisco’s Sunset District showcases our architectural and structural engineering services for a ground floor excavation and conversion. The homeowner needed to create additional habitable space on the lower level of their single-family residence.

Our team designed and engineered a full excavation to lower the slab and increase ceiling height, designing new footings and foundation reinforcement while maintaining the integrity of the existing framing above. With the conversion still underway, this project reflects our continued collaboration with contractors to ensure safe construction sequencing and optimized design solutions. From early planning to ongoing field coordination, we’re delivering a code-compliant, future-ready living space that meets both structural and architectural goals.
